Add nofollow Tag to All your blogger Label Links
I dont feel any shame to say that Ive penalized from Google in the beginning of my blogging career for link farms and faced struggle while indexing my blog on Google. Since that time onwards I was scratching my head to find the solution and fixed it successfully. So, today, in this post, I just wanna share with LabStrike readers how I resolved the problem with my link farms. Also wish you to check it out and keep your blog safe from Google panda update.

Before we get into this tutorial, let me tell you something related to Google Panda effect shortly. Google penalizes your blog only if it contains any copied content, more tags or categories (in blogger its called Labels) and posts that contain less than 300 words.

Though your blog is perfect for all these things, Google has the chance to penalize your blog due to dofollow tags of your labels (i.e.: Tags/Categories). As a result, SEO experts suggest to change all your dofollow label tags to nofollow label tags. Lets see how to do it!

 Add NoFollow Tag to All Blogger Label Links
By applying nofollow tags to all your label links or category tags, youll be able to nofollow all the tags that seem below your post titles and from your Label Cloud. Please follow the steps provided below.

  • Go to Blogger Dashboard » Template
  • Backup your blogger Template before making any changes
  • Click on Edit HTML
  • Check Expand Widget Templates
  • Press Ctrl + F and search the code shown below

<a expr:href='data:label.url' rel='tag'>

Now replace it with the above code. Please do make sure copy the code below and Paste as plain text.

<a expr:href='data:label.url' rel='tag,nofollow'>

Please note: Youve successfully safeguarded all your post label links from Google Panda Updates! Now lets see how to protect the Label cloud links also. But before we dive into this, let me remember you this part is for optional. Its just because of your label cloud widget is located on the right sidebar or blogs footer and not directly into your blog post page where actually crawl errors take place. So, by skipping this part, you dont have to face any problems. If you wanna add nofollow tags to label cloud links, search the code given below.

<a expr:dir='data:blog.languageDirection' expr:href='data:label.url'>
<data:label.name/></a>

Replace it with the code provided below.

<a expr:dir='data:blog.languageDirection' expr:href='data:label.url'
rel='nofollow'><data:label.name/></a>

Now click Save template and youre done! Lets check whether you add all above steps correctly or not. Simply click on label that appears in below post titles and choose Inspect element. If youve any doubt, see the image screenshot given below for better understanding.

After choosing Inspect element, youll be able to find your post body label links contains the rel="nofollow" tag and the label cloud will seem like the image screenshot (see inside the red rounded rectangle) provided below.
